Introduction: an Italian film on immigration set in the island of Lampedusa
Synopsis: Island of Lampedusa,not too distant past: An old fisherman tells an ancient Sicilian story of Cola Pesce to Rosario, an 8 year old boy from Lampedusa. Maria is an 11 year old girl who plays violin wonderfully in this quiet fisherman’s village. Their lives will soon change one night when Rosario meets an African boy just by the rocky shore, alone, after falling from his boat. His name is Babatunde.
